  • Your Google account information (name, email, profile picture) when you sign in
  • Profile information you provide (college, semester, display name)
  • Activity data (notes viewed, comments posted, chat messages sent)
  • Device and browser information for analytics purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the FlameInDark Team File Sharing platform
  • Display your profile and activity to other users
  • Calculate your points and award badges
  • Send notifications about platform activity
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Generate anonymized analytics to improve the platform

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Realtime Database, and Storage). Firebase is a Google product that complies with GDPR and other privacy regulations. Data is stored in Google's secure data centers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your public profile information (display name, photo, points, badges) is visible to other FlameInDark Team File Sharing users. Your email address is never displayed publicly.

5. Cookies

FlameInDark Team File Sharing uses cookies to maintain your authentication session and remember your preferences (such as theme settings). We use a cookie consent banner to inform you of this. You may disable cookies in your browser, but this may affect platform functionality.

6. Content Watermarking

When you view notes, a watermark containing your display name and email is overlaid on the content. This is a content protection measure to deter unauthorized distribution.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
